I’m proud of you
for being here
Hey there and welcome to my cozy corner of the internet.
I know how scary, daunting, and sometimes exhausting it can be to muster up the courage to find a therapist, but you’re doing it!
Whether you’re weighed down by depression, wrought with anxiety, having relationship issues, navigating the rich complexities of LGBTQIA+ identity, dealing with religious trauma, working towards a healthier relationship with your body and food, or anything and everything in between, I am here to support you every step of the way.
About Rachel
As a cisgender queer woman, I know the importance of having a therapist that is culturally informed and radically inclusive. My biggest priority for all of my clients is that they feel safe and seen.
I work from a feminist, systematic, psychodynamic lens. This means I help you explore, understand, and heal from the mental health challenges you face due to your experiences, from childhood until now, and the systems that impact you, with the belief that all people deserve the same respect and care.
Education and Experience:
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist providing therapy for clients in California. I provide both in person and virtual appointments, with in person sessions conducted in Chino, CA.
I received my Marriage and Family Therapy Master’s degree at University of La Verne and have worked in community mental health, working with adults who have experienced intimate partner violence and elderly abuse, as well as with children who experienced trauma. Most recently, I worked with a local LGBTQ+ Resource Center, providing treatment for those in the queer community, including those who identified as gay, bisexual, pansexual, lesbian, non-binary, trans, and those exploring. I also have experience working with people who are ethically non-monogamous (ENM).
Some specialties of mine:
LGBTQIA+
Being queer in our world comes with a variety of challenges. Your journey is uniquely yours, and your identity is something to be celebrated.
I offer a warm and inclusive space where you can explore and affirm who you are. I am dedicated to helping you navigate the challenges you might face and to support you in embracing your authentic self.
Whether you are questioning your gender or sexuality (or both!), want to understand these identities, need help navigating coming out to your community, are starting your transition and need care, etc., I would love to be a support for you as you embrace the embodiment of who you are.
Religious Trauma
If your religious experiences have left you feeling disconnected or hurt, know that you don’t have to go through this alone. I am here to help you untangle the impact of these experiences, find peace, and build a path forward that feels right for you. Together, we can explore your beliefs and values in a way that supports your healing and growth.
Some areas we could explore: deconstructing, spiritual abuse, navigating faith communities after coming out, reconstructing, or deciding what future spirituality can look like for you.
*This encompasses spiritual trauma, which includes all faiths and belief systems
Anti-Diet/Fat Liberation
We live in a society that has told us that small bodies and dieting is good and being fat is bad. We all have beliefs about food and our bodies that have been passed down to us from society, our communities, and our own lived experiences. Some of these beliefs are helpful while others may be hurtful.
I offer therapy to those desiring to fight against [internalized] anti-fat beliefs and diet culture, increase positive body image, and want to learn tools and skills to heal their relationship with their body and food.
*I work from the model of Health at Every Size, where health is not determined by the size of the body and every body can be healthy.
Book a free consult
If you think we may be a good fit, let’s chat! I would love to know you, your needs, and how I can come alongside you. I offer a 15-minute free consultation for us to make sure we are a great fit before we start the work!
